I’ve been having some hard days (weeks!) with ou

I’ve been having some hard days (weeks!) with our daughter waking up every night, and in turn, waking me up every night. I’m tired and I’m feeling pulled in multiple directions. I need to be available for my family, I need time to recharge myself, I need to keep up with the house, and I need to work on my business.

And I woke up one morning after a particularly bad night and I just stared at my coffee...I mean, what do you pray when the overwhelm is so much and you just want to run away?

After some deep exhaling, I found my heart whispering this...

Breathe life into the work of my hands...may the loads of laundry, the dishes, and the vacuuming establish this house as a place of rest.

Animate my weary soul...in spite of all my tiredness, reawaken me to the joy of my sweet children.

Increase my margin...as I pour out what little I have for my family, may it multiply and may it be a blessing.

Are you sleeping on a silk pillowcase? It might seem like a bit of an extravagance, but it isn't!

Cotton is highly moisture absorbent which means that it tends to drink in all our nice expensive night creams. Cotton also pulls on your skin/hair through the night while silk reduces the friction on your skin and doesn't leave the "pillow impression" on your cheek that you sometimes get when you wake up.

Satin might seem like a good compromise, but I would pass on it because it isn't a natural fiber (generally made of a polyester weave). While it's smooth, it isn't breathable like silk.

Silk is measured by momme weight so the higher the momme the denser the weave. I’ve listed some recommendations in LTK to help get you started!

Our hands are so quick to show the signs of aging...between COVID and being a mom of littles, I feel like I’m perpetually washing my hands...and my hands are showing the wear...looking dry, a little scaly (is that a word?) and more wrinkled.

But we can reverse the signs of aging on our hands by incorporating these three tricks during your week!

.
🍃Use a facial resurfacing peel on your hands in the evening...this will slough off the top layer of dead skin and address those scaly bits. (2x a week)
🌱Use a Vitamin C serum to address dark spots or discoloration on your hands. This will brighten and lighten the tops of your hands (2x a week)
🌿Add oil to your hand lotion for a deeper moisturizing experience. (As often as possible)
Bonus: whenever possible extend your skincare to your hands.

30 weeks and I can’t see my toes! Thank you to @premamawellness for gifting me with this prenatal vitamin...the two things that I love about it is that...you only have to take one pill a day and that it has the most bioavailable form of folate...so it is safe even you have the MTHFR mutation! .

Premama Wellness has a system for each stage of the fertility process...Cleanse, Concieve, Carry and Care. I’m taking the prenatal in the Carry stage, but I’m thankful that they have postpartum supplements that are specifically formulated for lactation support and to help ease postpartum depression. .

SKIN CARE TIP!
Don’t forget to use a clean washcloth every time you wash your face! Since wet washcloths are the perfect harbor for bacteria, it is important to use a fresh dry cloth for your morning and evening routine!

Which means, that you will go through washcloths quickly! I recommend buying them by the pack (no fancy Egyptian cotton needed!), so that even if you are running behind on laundry, you can still reach for a clean washcloth.

#realstagram I bought those sweet little moccasins after we had our first miscarriage in 2015. After that first loss, we just couldn’t get pregnant again and I felt so discouraged. But I bought the shoes anyway...and prayed over them every day as a step of faith. It was a precious moment to pull the moccasins out again to celebrate this new life! .
