The older I get the more I realize how important it is to celebrate all the little holidays and events. It is easy to dismiss Valentine’s Day as a gimmicky marketing based holiday that was cooked up by greedy capitalists to extort you out of money to buy frivolous items like cards, flowers and candy. At least, that’s how my dad always described it to me. But I’m celebrating it anyway. Because life is already so full of hardship and we can feel like we have so little to be joyful about. So, in this house, we are putting up the heart banners, making cupcakes, exchanging cards and just having fun!
